An Officer & a Gentleman?

bearing drift cursing lee jackson.jpg(click on Jr's Al Sharpton routine) JR Hoeft and Squeaky Wheel of Bearing Drift display their 'potty' mouths, in a post they are so proud of "Ahh Sh!t, Lee-Jackson Day again?  Except it seems they are so proud of their post that they pull it down?

Well, just so the rest of the blogosphere can see the fruits of their labor, I have provided some screen shots here for an archival view of what has to be the 'low light' of a very young 2008 year in blogging.

bearing drift squeaky cursing lee jackson.jpg(Look Mom, I dropped the 'F' bomb!)

But wait, it's just not a show, if we don't drop the 'F' bomb while attacking General's Lee & Jackson!  These two think they are scoring big time Political Correctness points, but in reality by comparing Generals Lee and Jackson to Hitler's goons & Stalin, they are only embarrassing themselves.  Generals Lee & Jackson were actual Officers and Gentleman, period.

Both of you came out cursing two very famous American Generals, who tower above the either of you as Officers & Gentleman, in every sense of the word.  Your childish verbal attacks only cut to your own very characters!

I got tired of being lectured about 'heritage' for pages on end, over and over and over on our blog. It seemed the only comments were people spouting their manifesto.

And since it was repetitive, we thought a time out was in order. And it was becoming mindless rhetoric that I was tired of reading, again and again.

Hey, all of you that are such fans of Lee and Jackson are welcome to post all day about how great they are and their cause on your blogs… We just got tired of being the forum for everyone else.

And as for the 'bad words' so what? Why so sensitive to swear words? Let me guess... the children... we have to protect the children.

Oh, and don't EVER compare me to Sharpton EVER again.

January 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterThe Squeaky Wheel

If it sounds like al sharpton, posts like al sharpton... grandstands like al sharpton... then you be al sharpton...

and you got tired of being lectured? Sounds like you got tired finding yourselves on the losing end of this argument.

Someone clinging to Confederate history saying someone else is on a losing end of an argument is ironic.

Just got tired of racist comments and being lectured by those who live a past that is not only irrelevant, but they weren't there for.

But that is ok. You got a chance to shit on Jim, speak ill of him and show your true colors. I am sure that will endear you to many.

Your passion to defend the old confederacy shows a lot about how you feel about certain people... or group of people, and your loyalty and attitude towards Jim was, well, expected I guess.

Way to burn a bridge. Good job.

See, we criticized a holiday, and history, you attacked the person, Jim. Real cool.

And the list of 'friends' in the blogosphere shortens I guess. nice job. You must feel better now.

That's ok, it is not like Jim has spent years defending conservatives, conservative blogs, gaining credibility for them and providing a groundwork for others. Nah, none of that matters... what matters was getting mad at him because he had an opinion about a holiday and a time in history.

Ass.

#1 The two of you directly attacked Generals Lee and Jackson personally by saying they are traitors, and not worthy of a State Holiday. Let me help you oh rightous one. They were defending Virginia, a Commonwealth that entered into a union upon their own free will. They have the right to leave that union on their own free will.

#2 Is Jim some kind of 'Blogging God' that is beyond criticism? I need to bow down to him and his undisclosed list of friends? Has your ego gone completely ballistic?

#3 Naval Officers do not conduct themselves in such a manner, particularly ones with the MOS of 'Public Relations'.... If he were in Ethiopia, I guess he would go after 'Warrior Leaders' of that nation who are greatly revered?

Last time I checked, VA has a lot of Military assets, and a lot of people who revere Generals Lee and Jackson. I don't mind Jim's opinion, but we are in a very public forum. You are damn right I am going to call him out. I was a lowly enlisted man, but I'll be damned if one of my Marine Officers would have ever gone on a tirade like that.

Why? Because we fight as a Corps, not individuals, Jim owes an apology to every one in uniform who reveres General's Lee and Jackson. His conduct and words were unbecoming an Officer... Maybe if you had spent time in the military you'd have a feel for Leadership.

#3 So I guess you are calling me a racist with this:
"Your passion to defend the old confederacy shows a lot about how you feel about certain people... or group of people, and your loyalty and attitude towards Jim was, well, expected I guess."

Does your 'race baiting, Al Sharpton attitude' have any bounds? I defend the Commonwealth's, the General Assembly's, the LG, the AG's rights to honor General Lee and General Jackson? Are they racists the lot of them?

Haha, Chris, you jackass.

Your buddy Kilo assaulted a soldier while cussing him out.

And now you expect people to care that they aren't big fans of... two dead guys?

Get a life.

January 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMad Hatter

Assaulted? He poked the guy in the chest making a point, wasn't that the extent of the assault?

What's up with the name calling? Phil Chroniger just did a post commending us Republicans for showing some civility; and here you come right out the gate exagerating the past and call me a donkey....

January 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSTD

And Mad Hatter squats to pee. I poked him in his chest and I would do it again. Not on a keyboard, but face to face.
